About me

I’m Cassandra, the maker behind Veil & Flame. My journey with candle making began in 2021, during a difficult chapter that pushed me back into my own creativity. What started as a small act of grounding slowly became a lifeline — a way to steady myself, to process, and to rediscover a sense of purpose through my hands.

In those early days, my family and friends were the first to believe in what I was creating. Their support helped me move from Texas to South Dakota, and their encouragement gave me the courage to keep going. I sold my first candles under the name Lumi Arts, honoring the light I was trying to reclaim in myself and offer to others.

As I grew, so did the work. Candle making shifted from comfort to craft — something I studied, refined, and poured myself into. I learned that my perfectionism, my need for meaning, and my constant drive to evolve weren’t obstacles; they were the very traits shaping my artistry.

Veil & Flame is the next chapter of that evolution. It’s where my love of atmosphere, symbolism, and intentional design came into focus. Today, I craft each candle by hand, choosing every scent, vessel, and detail with care. My pieces are meant to feel like small thresholds — objects that carry story, mood, and presence.
Veil & Flame has become a quiet sanctuary for the self‑initiated and the still‑seeking — a place for those who weren’t handed a path but found their own way to the threshold.

This studio is built from both where I’ve been and where I’m going. Every candle holds a fragment of that journey, and it means the world to share this work with you.
